Meet U @ The Net — Assumption of Risk, Waiver of Liability & Release Agreement

Please read this document carefully. By signing below, you are waiving certain legal rights, including the right to sue.

1. Assumption of Risk

I acknowledge that participation in recreational and competitive beach volleyball activities organized by Meet U @ The Net(“the League”) involves inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid them. These risks include, but are not limited to: sprains, fractures, ligament and tendon injuries, muscle strains, concussions, heat-related illness, sunburn, contact with other players or equipment, falls on sand or uneven surfaces, exposure to weather conditions, and other injuries that may result from participation in beach volleyball. I voluntarily assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the League, its organizers, employees, volunteers, referees, or other participants.

2. Waiver & Release of Liability

In consideration of being permitted to participate in any League activities, I hereby waive, release, and discharge Meet U @ The Net, its owners, operators, organizers, sponsors, employees, volunteers, referees, and agents (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, causes of action, or damages arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise, while participating in League games, practices, tournaments, social events, or any related activities, or while on or about the premises where such activities are conducted.

3. Indemnification

I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages, and liabilities, including attorney's fees, brought as a result of my involvement in League activities and to reimburse them for any such expenses incurred.

4. Medical Authorization

I authorize the League and its representatives to obtain or provide emergency medical treatment for me if needed during any League activity, at my own expense. I acknowledge that the League does not provide medical insurance for participants, and I am responsible for my own medical coverage. I confirm that I am physically fit to participate in beach volleyball and have no medical conditions that would prevent safe participation, or I have disclosed such conditions and received medical clearance.

5. Code of Conduct

I agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the League, including but not limited to: demonstrating good sportsmanship, respecting referees, opponents, and teammates, refraining from violent or abusive behavior, and following all safety guidelines. I understand that violation of this code may result in suspension or permanent removal from the League without refund.

6. Photo & Video Release

I grant Meet U @ The Net and its authorized representatives permission to photograph, film, and record me during League activities and to use such images, video, and recordings for promotional purposes, including but not limited to: the League website, social media accounts, marketing materials, and press releases, without compensation or further notice.

7. Weather & Cancellations

I understand that beach volleyball is an outdoor sport subject to weather conditions. The League reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or modify any scheduled activity due to weather, unsafe conditions, or other circumstances beyond its control. Makeup games will be scheduled when possible, but are not guaranteed.

8. Governing Law

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Any disputes arising under or related to this agreement shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.

9. Acknowledgment

I have read this Assumption of Risk, Waiver of Liability & Release Agreement, fully understand its terms, and understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue. I sign it freely, voluntarily, and without inducement. I am at least 18 years of age and legally competent to sign this agreement.
